Skills Training Centre

The training centre is a social enterprise project by Ain Society, focusing at creating employability in the cottage industry for the unemployed Malay/Muslim individuals or the lower income families.

Besides sewing courses, the centre also provides ad-hoc training courses such as cake-making, industrial cooking and jewellery making courses. The skills acquired will increase opportunities for these individuals and families to engage in micro businesses or become home entrepreneurs.

Public Education

Ain Society, as a responsible VWO, believes in complementing national campaigns in uplifting the well-being of the community through its public education projects. It started off in 2008 by producing a meaningful and inspiring documentary cum drama video entitled 'Mentari 1' ('the Sun' in english) which was shown on national television. The docu-drama  touched on family and domestic violence and also included family experts' advice on such issues. As it was well-received, a sequel, 'Mentari II' was produced in 2009 and also shown on national television.

Besides educating the public through television medium, Ain Society also uses other media to reach out to the community. Its annual radio telepoll campaign that started in 2008 has raised awareness on social issues that the Organisation has been championing. Since 2010, awareness on Cancer disease has been ramped up through the telepoll campaign. Ain Society recognises the impact of Cancer and other health issues on family relationship and well-being and thus has partnered with the Health Promotion Board (HPB) and Breast Cancer Foundation in conducting joint talks and forums/seminars on 'Mental Health and Dementia' and 'Breast Cancer' topics respectively.
