Gelora Remaja - It's All About Youth!

An analysis of the trends of troubled teens especially among the Malay youths emphasizes the pressing need to bridge the service gap for this target group. Many troubled teens are involved in unhealthy activities such as drug-abuse, rioting, gangsterism, tattooing and other similar negative activities. As such, many have lost interest in their studies, and eventually drop out from school.

In the long run, these teens enter parenthood and the workforce without the necessary qualifications and skills, knowledge and attitude as well as clear vision of their family values and future life. Hence, they will encounter multiple challenges in parenthood, reconciliation with their families and staying competitive in a predominantly educated workforce. The Gelora Remaja Roadshows aim to discuss and address these issues while reaching out to the community and provide information on the avenues of help for the families.

The following are the objectives of the road shows:

  • To create awareness on the current issues pertaining to youths and encourage better understanding between youths and their families.

  • To outreach to the community and promote avenues of help for youths and their parents.
